Overnight Oats

This simple and sweet high fibre breakfast is exactly what you need to get you going in the mornings !

Equipment

For the overnight oats
  1. A jar or small container - to make your oats in and to contain them
  2. A tablespoon - to measure oats , syrup and yogurt
  3. A teaspoon - to measure the chia seeds
  4. A fork - to combine the oats mixture
  5. Any other equipment depends on what your toppings are e.g a peeler to peel fruit

Ingredients

Overnight Oats 

  • 8 tbsp Oats
  • 1 heaped tsp Chia seeds
  • 100ml Milk (of your choice)
  • 1 generous squeeze of Agave syrup / honey
  • 4 tbsp Greekstyle yogurt (I love the Tesco greekstyle coconut yogurt)
  • Toppings of your choice e.g berries

Instructions

  1. In a jar or small container put your oats , milk , syrup and chia seeds 
  2. Combine the ingredients well using a fork
  3. I like to layer my oats so next I put my mixture in the fridge to set for about an hour - this allows the oats to absorb the milk and makes the oat mixture thick enough to layer with yogurt and hold the layer.
  4. Note: You can actually mix in your yogurt at this stage then top with your toppings but I prefer layering my yogurt (see serving suggestions)
  5. After an hour remove your oats from the fridge and layer with as much or as little yogurt as you like 
  6. Top with your favourite toppings e.g berries / biscoff , banoffee etc !
  7. Place your oats back in the fridge for a delicious breakfast for the next day.
