Hey everyone ! Welcome to Her Nature is Nurture . My name is Jennifer, and I am a final year general nursing student. By God's grace I will be a registered general nurse in September 2025!! #RGN2BE. This blog has been on my heart since before I even got accepted into nursing school ! The name HER NATURE IS NURTURE came to me in 2021 while I was working in a chocolate factory - this was my very first summer job after my leaving certificate exams. At the time I thought this was the name for an Instagram page but 3 years later here we are and I am introducing my BLOG.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Growing up I always said I wanted to be a soldier (laugh with me) , I grew up in the Curragh on the army barracks and I just loved the uniform and the professionalism. Little did I know my uniform one day would be scrubs and I would be a healthcare professional. Like most children , my answer to "What do you want to be when you grow up"? would change frequently "singer" , "gymnast" , "actress". Transition year was quite a career focused year ,it was the first time I seriously thought about my life after secondary school. I wrote my first CV, had timetabled career classes, started work experience , ran a mini company, and attended multiple career fairs as well as job exposure trips. I couldn't tell you the exact moment I knew I was called to be a nurse and for a while I wrestled with the thoughts of becoming a secondary school teacher. When the time came, it was nursing or nothing that is all I put down on my CAO application. For me , nursing is not just a job, it is a vocation. I know I am right where God wants me to be, this knowledge is what gets me through when the journey gets tough. I have always had a desire to help people and make a difference. Anyone can make a difference in whatever path they choose in life and nursing is mine. Nursing is more than just something I am passionate about . I believe it is a calling over my life. I want to be the best nurse that I can be. My encouragement to you? In this short life aim to be the best at whatever you do.
What can you expect from this blog ?
This is my space to share : my nursing experiences , healthy & delicious recipe ideas , inspire nurses/midwives & health care professionals alike and document my journey to becoming a Registered General Nurse. I am excited to take you along with me! I am always open to new ideas and suggestions ; I would love to hear from you guys.
Anchor verse
I am a Christian , I love Jesus ! My anchor verse for this page is a passage from one of my favorite books in the bible. Philippians 1:6 “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Jesus Christ.” I am trusting that as God has started a good work in ME , that He will bring it to completion in my life ! So…. Watch this space because truly? We are only getting warmed up
What does “Her Nature is Nurture” mean?

The logo explained
I am sure you have heard the phrase “nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system” and it is TRUE. That is why our logo for this blog is vertebrae. The backbone provides solidity , support and structure for the body. Now read that again but replace backbone with "nurse" and body with "healthcare system". Get it?
The flowers represent “her nature” in the flora sense while being symbolic for character as defined above.
Thank you !
Thank you to each and every one of you for your love and support ! We are going on this journey together and I am so excited to bring you all along with me. The best is yet to come. Happy 2025 , let’s get it !
With love – Jennyfa ♥
